Personal Comments as to Tuesday Jan. 20 and Wednesday Jan. 21. The Inauguration & Prayer Service

•Looking towards the Capital and seeing the mass of people was an incredible sight
•I felt the crowd was disrespectful to our outgoing president by barely acknowledging him when he was ushered onto the seating platform.
•Dr. Joseph E. Lowery’s prayer was more of a speech than a prayer.
•Michelle Obama was looking all around during Rick Warren’s prayer.
•Obama did put his hand over his heart during the playing of the national anthem on Tuesday and did the same during the prayer service on Wednesday.
•Michelle Obama, the Bidens and Bill Clinton did not place their hands over their hearts when the anthem was played at the prayer service.
•Michelle Obama looked really bummed out about having to be at the prayer service.

Should be happy about Tuesday, the 20th

This Letter to the Editor was submitted to the Wilmington Star Newspaper Jan. 17, 2009

Tuesday after the oath of office, I will have to say, Obama is my President. Should I be happy about that? Yes. Am I happy about that? No. I hope and pray that our new President is a true American but I truly doubt it. This past Friday night my wife and I watched the New Hanover teams play the Hoggard teams. Before the start of the boys game we were all asked to remove our hats to show our respect to the flag while the anthem was played. We saw no one wearing a hat but we did see many, many spectators and some players and coaches who weren't showing their respect for the flag of our country by not placing their hands over their hearts. We have a video taken of Obama during one of his campaign appearances standing on the stage with3 other people. He was the only one not placing his hand on his heart. E.J. Dionne Jr. said in his column on Saturday that "for the past two years, Barack Obama has made it hard for anyone to pin him down philosophically." I would like to know where he truly stands patriotically. We have as a country largely forgotten that fateful day of Sept. 11, 2001. Among my other concerns, I worry that Barack Hussein Obama is a closet Muslim who does not have the best interests of the American people at heart. In fact, I believe he is attempting to be all things to all people. Some have characterized him as audacious. He has to be to fool the electorate by comparing himself to Abraham Lincoln.

Burris, not Barack

This "Letter to the Editor" was submitted by me to the "Wilmington Star" newspaper on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009. I'm sure that, like other letters I have submitted, it will not be published, but at least I tried.

"I took the time to check out the biography of Roland Burris, the African American who took Obama's place in the Senate. It's unfortunate that he was used more or less as a "weapon" in finally getting his seat in Congress. But now that he is there the American people may, if they take the time to do so, discover that this African American would have been a credible candidate for the Presidency of this country had he had the backing. Mr. Burris is a 4th generation native of Centralia, Illinois. His background contains no questions as to his true birthplace. He is a Baptist so chances are he didn't use illegal drugs. His church affiliation also would have tended to keep him from attaching himself to people linked to terrorists and angry U.S. hating ministers. His professional credentials and civic accomplishment, of which there are many, do not hint of contact with radical groups outside the country. Lastly, after reading the four to five pages of his biography, the reader comes away with the thought that if the country really wanted change, why not give a man a chance who is African American through and through and who has vast political experience, plus national recognition. Editors, the national media has finally come out and said it, Obama's road trip has now changed from “Change” to “Repair.” The wrong man is going to be sworn into office on Tuesday and all who voted for him have no one to blame but themselves."

Letters to the Editor (been there, done that, didn't get the T-shirt)

Jan. 13, 2009
Part of my desire to create a blog was to find an avenue of expression. My numerous attempts by way of the Wilmington Star newspaper has met with futility. Why? Because I'm sure my politics were like oil and theirs like water. My main focus until a few days ago was to attempt to bring attention to Obama's absence of forthrightness as to his place of birth, i.e. his citizenship. Anyone who has dared leave the mainstream media for their info to take a less traveled road (check out the Blog: w.w.w.americasright.com) will discover that there are thousands of citizens of our country who believe that, indeed, it is within certainty that he is Kenyan-born. Since his place of birth conflicts with the requirements of our Constitution it is no wonder that he and his political advisors took the low road of paying people off to keep the secret. With all the financial backing he had for his campaign the half-million plus dollars he spent to hide his true birth records was a mere drop in the bucket. Well, time has marched on and it seems that all attempts to extract the truth have come to naught. Mr. Berg's legal challenge was fluffed off by the Supreme Court. On opening day of Congress, not one legislator had the personal fortitude to stand up and challenge Obama on the birthplace issue. Had someone presented the challenge, a thorough bi-partisan investigation would have been implemented. The irony is that, according to the Tuesday, Jan. 13 Wilmington Star, Obama taught constitutional law in Chicago before entering politics. A thinking person might ask the question, "When Obama decided to enter politics, did he sacrifice his principles?" But we know that couldn't have happened because he entered politics in the State of Illinois, the State that can boast of being the political cesspool of America. As to the focus of this particular issue, I rest my case.
